Recently, the Xiangya Overseas Alumni Association held an alumni reunion in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The event was also attended by President Li Jiancheng, Executive Vice President Chen Xiang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiangya School of Medicine, Chang Shi,Vice Deans of XYSM, Li Xuejun and Liu Hong, and Dean of Xiangya School of Nursing, Wang Honghong.

The reunion unfolded in three main segments. The first part included academic lectures and seminars, covering a range of topics. The second segment featured informal discussions on career planning, personal interests, hobbies, retirement, and financial planning. The third part allowed for free-flowing communication and showcased various cultural performances, such as poetry competitions and a golf championship. During the event, two songs, "Clouds of Hometown" and "The World Outside", struck a chord with overseas alumni, echoing sentiments of returning home and reflecting on the beauty of their origins.

The gathering served as a valuable platform for overseas alumni to connect and share experiences. Alumni expressed gratitude for the university leadership's attention and their efforts to unite alumni from across the globe. Throughout the years, alumni have witnessed the continuous improvement and growth of their alma mater under various administrations. They shared insights on how they can contribute further to the university's development. Notably, many alumni from the classes after 2000 attended for the first time, and some even received travel awards.

The success of this event was made possible by the enthusiastic support of overseas alumni, the diligent work of the preparatory team, and the active participation of alumni in various engaging activities.
