On June 28th, a delegation from theBill & Melinda Gates Foundation, led byChief Representative to China and Director of China Office,Zheng Zhijie, visited the Furong Laboratory for an exchange. Chen Xiang,Executive Vice President of Central South University, Dean ofXiangya School of Medicine, and Director of Furong Laboratory, along with Zhang Xin, Party Secretary of Xiangya Hospital, Huang Zhijun, Vice Dean ofXiangya School of Medicine, and Li Xuejun, Director of Neurosurgery at Xiangya Hospital, participated in the exchange.
The delegation toured the research platform of the Furong Laboratory, where Chen Xiang provided a detailed overview of the laboratory's progress in talent development, platform construction, and research work, as well as showcasing representative research achievements. Zheng Zhijie expressed high praise for Furong Laboratory's achievements in technological innovation, outcome transformation, and talent cultivation.
Following the laboratory tour, both parties engaged in extensive discussions on topics such as global health capacity building and the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare. They expressed mutual intentions for further collaboration in these areas.
