Joint Meeting of CSU Affiliated Hospitals & 110th Anniversary Symposium of Xiangya Medical Education Held Today

On the afternoon of April 8th, to further the development of non-directly affiliated hospitals of Central South University and enhance inter-hospital collaboration, while also outlining plans for the 110th anniversary of Xiangya Medical Education, the Joint Meeting of Affiliated Hospitals of Central South University and the Symposium on the 110th Anniversary of Xiangya Medical Education was convened at the Xiaoqian Building of Xiangya School of Medicine. Chen Xiang, Executive Vice President of Central South University and Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, along with Vice President Chen Lizhang, attended the meeting. Vice President Chen Lizhang presided over the proceedings.

During the meeting, Wu Minghua, Executive Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, began by outlining the progress of constructing non-directly affiliated hospitals and sharing insights from recent visits to several hospitals. She provided a comprehensive overview of Xiangya School of Medicine's achievements in the past year, covering disciplines development, talent cultivation, scientific research, international and domestic partnerships. Wu highlighted significant advancements in non-directly affiliated hospital construction, particularly in education, mentorship accreditation, research collaboration, and student management. Each non-directly affiliated hospital then reported on their respective advancements in healthcare, infrastructure, research, and student training over the past year. Directly affiliated hospitals also gave detailed updates on the implementation of co-construction agreements. Additionally, extensive discussions and exchanges took place among the hospitals on how to further strengthen collaboration between directly affiliated and non-directly affiliated hospitals, and how to promote multi-level, comprehensive, and high-quality development across the hospitals.

Regarding the construction and development of non-directly affiliated hospitals, Chen Xiang stressed the importance of hospitals coming together in unity, fostering cross-hospital collaboration, and nurturing an atmosphere of synergy, solidarity, and mutual understanding. He urged harnessing collective strength to propel the Xiangya brand to new heights. Chen emphasized the need for clear positioning both domestically and internationally, setting precise targets, and putting in vigorous efforts to surpass them. He also encouraged proactive adoption of advanced concepts, innovation in development approaches, and leveraging diverse channels for growth. Long-term planning, including strengthening common foundations through establishment and pursuing differentiated development by focusing on advantageous disciplines, was highlighted. Additionally, Chen underlined the significance of all units closely monitoring developments related to the 110th anniversary of Xiangya Medical Education and actively engaging in them. He emphasized seizing this opportunity to reignite Xiangya's legacy of excellence.

During the meeting, Huang Gengwen, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, outlined the work plan for the 110th anniversary activities of Xiangya Medical Education at Central South University, while Furong Laboratory's Deputy Director presented renovation proposals for the old campus. Attendees shared their perspectives on implementing the work plan and renovation proposals.

Chen Lizhang emphasized the importance of all departments faithfully implementing the work plan for the 110th anniversary series of activities of Xiangya Medical Education at Central South University. He particularly highlighted the need to effectively execute the "Four Major Conferences".It is crucial to ensure that these anniversary activities are distinguished by their unique characteristics and high standards. This serves as the cornerstone for driving forward a new phase of development for Xiangya Medical Education, ultimately benefiting faculty, students, and the broader community through tangible actions.

All members of the leadership team of Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, key personnel from the hospital management department, and major leaders and office directors from directly affiliated hospitals such as Xiangya Hospital, the Second Xiangya Hospital, the Thrid Xiangya Hospital, and Xiangya Stomatological Hospital, as well as principal leaders and office directors from non-directly affiliated hospitals such as Hunan Cancer Hospital, Hunan Children's Hospital, Haikou People's Hospital, Changsha No.1 Hospital, Zhuzhou Hospital, and the First People's Hospital of Changde City, participated fully in the relevant meetings. Key leaders from academic departments including the School of Basic Medical Sciences, Xiangya School of Public Health, Xiangya School of Nursing, Xiangya School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and School of Life Sciences focused on the proceedings of the 110th Anniversary Symposium on Xiangya Medical Education.
