Recently, the Ministry of Education officially released the list of National Planning Textbooks for Undergraduate Higher Education of the 14th Five-Year Plan."Medical Literature and Information Retrieval" (People’s Medical Publishing House), chief-edited by Professor Luo Aijing, and "Internal Medicine" (Higher Education Press), chief-edited by Professor Shenghua Zhou of the Second Xiangya Hospital, have been successfully selected.

"Medical Literature and Information Retrieval" is closely aligned with the needs of medical education, integrating ideological and political education and information literacy instruction. The textbook has been printed 20 times with a circulation exceeding 100,000 copies. Its editorial team brings together experts from 18 renowned medical universities across China, demonstrating the hospital’s professional influence in the field of medical information education.
"Internal Medicine" is among the first batch of new-format medical textbooks in China. Since its publication in 2017, it has circulated nearly 9,000 copies and earned wide acclaim. Adopting an integrated “print + digital” design, the textbook is equipped with more than 1,200 digital resources, combining clinical thinking training, humanities education and professional competency development. It has been awarded the Second Prize of the National Award for Textbook Construction.
The selection of the two textbooks fully affirms the academic and teaching competence of the editorial teams, and reflects the hospital’s commitment to the spirit of “Three Stricts” and its deep commitment to teaching reform.Since the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Second Xiangya Hospital has served as editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief for 19 national planning textbooks and contributed to 55 others, demonstrating profound accumulation in textbook development.Taking this selection as an opportunity, the hospital will further systematically promote textbook construction, deepen the integration of textbooks with curricula, clinical practice and scientific research, and strive to build a high-quality textbook system with Chinese characteristics and medical distinctiveness.
