The Representative Team of CSU Led by Xiangya Third Hospital Wins the Top Prize in the First Clinical Thinking and Skills Competition for International Medical Students

On December 9, the First Clinical Thinking and Skills Competition for International Medical Students themed “Study in China” has been successfully held in Tianjin Medical University. Aiming to assess the comprehensive abilities of international medical students by examining their clinical skills in different clinical specialties, this competition has attracted more than 100 foreign medical students from 28 universities and colleges around the nation to participate in.

Led by the Third Xiangya Hospital, the representative team of Central South University has won the individual awards for the category of Internal Medicine and basic clinical skills of General Surgery, and more importantly, the highest honor ——Oustanding Team Award. These great achievements would not have been possible without the great support and participation of the teachers from Central South University and the joint effort of team members, the international undergraduate students, Linda from Uganda, Maku from South Sudan, Joana from Cape Verde and Khan from Pakistan.

It is reported that Clinical Thinking and Skills Competition for International Medical Students, as one of a series of activities of “Study in China”, serving as an important platform to thoroughly apply the “Double First-rate” strategic plan, to effectively carry out the spirit of the Opening-up of Education in New Era and to fully cultivate the qualified international medical professionals with Chinese characteristics in order to serve our hosiptal and university much better, and more importantly, boosting China’s international reputation of medical education by coordinating closely with the Belt and Road initiative.
