On December 28-29, the International Young Scholars Forum, jointly organized by Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, and Furong Laboratory, took place smoothly at the academic lecture hall on the 4th floor of the Fuqing Building at Xiangya School of Medicine. The opening ceremony was attended by more than 100 people, including Wu Minghua, Executive Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, Wu Shiming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Huang Zhijun, Liu Hong, and Li Xuejun, Deputy Deans, Zhou Zhijun, Director of the Department of Laboratory Animals, Sun Lunquan, Executive Deputy Director of the Oncology Medical Center at Xiangya Hospital, Xiangya School of Medicine, and Xiang Bo, Executive Deputy Director of Furong Laboratory. Thirteen outstanding young scholars from home and abroad, as well as representatives of faculty and students, also participated. The opening ceremony was hosted by Liu Hong, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine.

In her opening speech, Executive Vice Dean Wu Minghua warmly welcomed and greeted the young scholars from home and abroad participating in this forum. She gave a brief introduction to the development and significant achievements of Xiangya School of Medicine and Furong Laboratory. She emphasized that in the future, Xiangya School of Medicine and Furong Laboratory will strive to build a team of talents with a sense of mission, aspirations, vision, and quality, carry out organized and academically leading scientific research, explore precision medicine in China, and build a strategic scientific and technological force that reflects the national will, fulfills national missions, and represents the national level. She sincerely invited young talents from home and abroad to join Xiangya School of Medicine and Furong Laboratory for common development.

During the academic exchange session, young scholars from universities in Saudi Arabia, the United States, Switzerland, Japan, and China shared their latest academic achievements. They engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions with faculty and students on international cutting-edge technologies and research hotspots.

On the 29th, the young scholars visited the new campus, old campus, and Furong Laboratory of Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, and received warm reception from Chen Xiang, Executive Vice President of Central South University, Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, and Director of Furong Laboratory, and Liu Hong, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine.

Executive Vice President Chen Xiang expressed that the successful organization of this forum has not only provided a high-level academic exchange platform for young scholars from home and abroad but has also promoted academic cross-discussion and cooperation through academic discussions and talent negotiations. It has further advanced the construction of a high-level talent team. He hopes that this opportunity will attract a large number of outstanding young talents to join and continue to promote the high-quality development of Xiangya Medical Education, contributing to the construction of "Double First-Class".
