On August 31, a delegation led by General Teguh Muji Angkasa from Indonesia visited the Xiangya School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University. The group included Brigadier General Benny Poltak, the Education and Cultural Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in China, Yudil Chatim, and First Secretary Destarata Hamarsan Mustafa. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen collaboration in medical education and research between the two institutions.
In the morning, both sides held a discussion at the Xiangya School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, chaired by Vice Dean Zhang Zheng.
Li Zhihong, Vice President of Central South University, delivered a welcome speech, expressing his pleasure in meeting friends from Indonesia to explore opportunities for cooperation and development in medical education and research. He expressed his confidence that this exchange would foster better understanding, deepen the friendship, and open up new possibilities for collaboration in areas like education, research innovation, and medical technology, contributing to the advancement of the medical field.
During the meeting, Li Xuejun, Vice Dean of Xiangya School of Medicine, and Hu Ping’an, Party Secretary of Xiangya School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, provided detailed introductions on the highlights of international cooperation of Xiangya School of Medicine, as well as the teaching, research, and international exchange programs of Xiangya School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. General Teguh Muji Angkasa thanked Central South University for their warm hospitality and expressed his hope to strengthen ties and deepen cooperation in healthcare and education.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Third Xiangya Hospital, where they were warmly welcomed by Vice President Cao Ke and other staff members. The group toured several departments, including Radiology, the Ultrasound Medicine Center, and the Digestive Endoscopy Center, to learn about the hospital’s specialties, medical services, and innovations in medical technology. The delegation members were impressed by the hospital’s achievements in medical technology, service quality, and research innovation, expressing their hope for closer collaboration with the Third Xiangya Hospital in the future, to drive medical progress in both countries.
This visit from the Indonesian delegation has laid a strong foundation for future collaboration and exchanges. Both sides agreed to take this opportunity to further broaden the scope of cooperation and deepen the partnership.
