On the afternoon of May 23, responding to the university’s Hiking Festival initiative, the Faculty and Staff Union of Xiangya School of Medicine kicked off its spring hiking event on the plaza in front of the library at Yuelu Mountain Campus. Faculty members bonded through outdoor sports, embarking on a journey for idea exchange and stamina building.

Two tailored hiking routes were designed to suit participants of varying physical fitness levels. The group-friendly route started at the library, passed Yunlu Villa and ended at Wufan Tea House. Along the scenic trail, faculty strolled amid lush mountain scenery and fresh air, sharing stories about work and daily life.
After finishing this gentle section, energetic participants took on the advanced trail starting from the Xiao Jingguang Bronze Statue Memorial Park next to Wufan Tea House. This route linked the Changsha Battle Monument, sightseeing corridors and Yuelu Mountain TV Tower, with a round trip of about 5.2 kilometers, offering an immersive experience integrating revolutionary history, natural scenery and local humanities.

Hiking uphill fuels aspiration, and spring outings inspire reflection. This activity allowed faculty to unwind and refresh themselves amid nature, while peer communication greatly strengthened team cohesion. Just as hikers channel physical stamina to reach summits, Xiangya faculty will translate this collective solidarity into powerful momentum for advancing high-quality medical development.
The Faculty and Staff Union will continue to optimize support for faculty development and build a fulfilling spiritual home for all staff via diverse recreational activities.
