Xiangya School of Medicine Secures 287 Projects in 2024 National Natural Science Foundation Awards

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) recently announced its 2024 funding decisions, and Xiangya School of Medicine at Central South University has achieved remarkable success. As of August 23, the school has secured 287 projects, with a total grant amount of 127.205 million yuan, representing 52% of all awards received by the university.

Xiangya Hospital continues its impressive track record, securing 125 projects and maintaining its streak of over 100 funded projects for the eighth consecutive year. Notably, Professors Lei Guanghua and Luo Xianghang from Xiangya Hospital, Professor Zhang Jingjing from the Second Xiangya Hospital, and Professor Zhou Wen from the School of Basic Medical Sciences were awarded key projects. Additionally, four researchers—Zhou Haiyan and Deng Zhili from Xiangya Hospital, He Yuhu from the Second Xiangya Hospital, and Yuan Fangfang from the Third Xiangya Hospital—received the prestigious Excellent Young Scientists Fund.
